"Basílica de San Nicolás de Bari"
The organ and church history
Aristide (?) Cavaillé-Coll

The organ

This organ remains intact. We know not much about its history. It was installed in its current place in 1935 when the old church building was replaced by the new Basílica. The name "Aristide" is printed in the label at the organ console. However we are not sure that this instrument was constructed before the end of the nineteenth century. But, on the other hand, it is not one of the typical Charles Mutin organs.
An Aristide or a Mutin Cavaillé-Coll?
We have no documentation that could help us to solve this enigma.
