"Estancia Acelain" - "San Roque" Chapel
The Chapel and the Organ
Mutin Cavaillé-Coll, c. 1920

"Estancia Acelain" was built in 1924 . His owner was Enrique Larreta, a very famous argentinian writer and diplomatist. This magnificent building is placed near the city of Tandil , three hours driving far from Buenos Aires. We can see a gorgeous castle in spanish colonial style fully decorated, a beautiful french garden and the notable but austere chapel where the instrument is placed.

This Mutin organ belongs to the very last time of the firma Mutin Cavaille Coll before the whole business being transfered to firma Convers. The organ has been designed according to the size of the chapel. The pipes of the great organ section however show a smaller than usual scale due basically to the narrow place were the instrument is located. There is also an extensive use of stop transmissions.
