"Nuestra Señora del Valle" Parish
The organ and church history
Mutin Cavaillé-Coll
The organ
Currently dismounted. A documented explanation about this organ re-construction and restoration exists
in the Parish files.
This instrument was originally installed in a church (nowadays abandoned) in a village called
Vivoratá, in Buenos Aires province (very close to Mar del Plata city). The documented archives of
the Mutin Cavaillé-Coll house in Paris have information about an instrument of similar characteristics
sent to Argentina, specificly to the city of Coronel Vidal (very close to Vivoratá) during the
1910's.
We can be absolutely sure that that organ specified in the Mutin Cavaillé-Coll files
is the one currently placed in the church of "Nuestra Señora del Valle" in Buenos Aires city.
